24” x 24” (61cm x 61 cm), multimedia on canvas. The title was inspired by a musical piece of the same name by the late-Renaissance composer Orlando de Lassus, of which there are snippets of the music embedded on the canvas, along with Beethoven, Chopin, and Stravinsky. I was listening to Lassus, as well as a different Beatus Vir by composer Monteverdi, while creating this piece and the name sort of stuck. Translated from Latin it means “blessed is the man” and is the beginning to At least two of the Psalms.
