Murter is a tiny island nestled among an archipelago in the Adriatic Sea, off the coast of Croatia, where the friendly locals gather in the town square every evening in summer to socialize in the warm night air. Murter, like Croatia, is steeped in history dating back centuries. This painting, in a folk-expressionist style, is based on a photo I'd taken during a walk one evening of the Ribarska Ulica (street).
